Officina nasce nell’aprile 2015 dall’idea di un gruppo di studenti del Liceo Classico Massimo D’Azeglio di Torino con la passione per la scrittura, giovani desiderosi di approfondire le proprie conoscenze e incuriositi dalle notizie quotidiane. Presto ci accorgiamo che una rivista non può essere realizzata da poche persone; dietro quelle pagine scritte e colorate, rilegate assieme c’è un mondo, un gruppo di molti ragazzi che si adoperano per produrre ogni mese una bella rivista, il frutto del loro lavoro. E alloro scopriamo quanto è bello e formativo allo stesso tempo lavorare insieme a uno stesso progetto, un progetto condiviso da tutti noi, un progetto in cui crediamo. La redazione si allarga e diventiamo sempre di più; intanto dopo qualche mese di preparativi e organizzazione esce il primo numero cartaceo della rivista: sono solo 20 pagine ma in quelle pagine c’è tutto il nostro impegno e sono solo 100 copie distribuite fra il nostro Liceo e il Liceo Scientifico Copernico. Pubblicato il primo numero siamo sempre più coinvolti ed entusiasti, e così segue il secondo e il terzo numero in cui ci miglioriamo sotto ogni profilo, dal layout al contenuto degli articoli, alla tiratura della rivista. È il gennaio 2016. Dal settembre 2016, per far fronte alle esorbitanti spese di stampa, decidiamo di fondare il sito e di cambiare nome e logo. La piattaforma web ci permette di ingrandirci molto e in poco meno di 6 mesi la nostra redazione conta oltre 50 studenti liceali e universitari da tutta Italia. Nel Gennaio del 2017, grazie a due aziende che hanno deciso di investire su di noi (YouAbroad ed Hype), torniamo a pubblicare, dopo molto tempo, un numero cartaceo che distribuiamo in 16 scuole a Torino e con una tiratura di 5000. Nel Giugno 2017 sospendiamo le pubblicazioni cartacee e web in vista delle vacanze estive. Nell’ottobre 2017 Officina Magazine lancia il nuovo sito: una piattaforma più ampia, personalizzabile e completa.
