The Israeli Psifas Foundation strives to improve Israeli society by providing individuals living in poverty with financial help, designated for a specific purpose, which enables them to take a step forward, break the cycle of poverty and obtain a financial independence without relying on charity. Psifas- the Hebrew word for mosaic, represents the organizations perception that Israeli society is similar to a mosaic made up of various stones, each stone has a role and responsibility for the complete picture. The organization encourages social solidarity and mutual responsibility and the activity is largely supported by small donations from many private donors. The Israeli Psifas Foundation receives requests for funding from vulnerable people from all over Israel: youth at risk, single mothers, new and veteran immigrants, People who have gone bankrupt
