Kuunda builds dynamic, embedded financing solutions that create sustainable economic productivity by providing agent networks, small businesses, and consumers with access to liquidity products and services. Leveraging proprietary credit scoring algorithms, our dynamic borrower profiles are built off real-time behavioural data connected via our channel partners’ existing infrastructure and networks to provide insights into the transactional patterns of agents, small businesses, and consumers. Using the insights generated from these profiles, we enable our partner networks to distribute liquidity to their networks. To date, Kuunda’s algorithms have been utilised in the creation of both short-term, and medium-term lending solutions, spanning use cases from e-float financing and airtime advances, to working capital facilities and stock financing loans to enable small business growth.

Achelis is a long-established German trading company that was founded in 1826. It is headquartered in the Hanseatic City of Bremen, and has a network of associated companies and representatives in many countries in Eastern Africa and South-East Asia. The Achelis Group of companies has a long history in Eastern Africa with operations that have been in existence locally for more than 60 years. The Joh. Achelis & Söhne GmbH in Bremen is active in the project business and participates mainly in international tenders in various African countries. Here, the subsidiaries or local agents are involved in the respective markets. The projects mainly include deliveries from the Healthcare / Scientific, Technical / Industrial, Energy / Water and Oil / Gas sectors. In the core markets of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the subsidiaries also have local business activities. Sales are made on own account mainly in the area of technical & industrial equipment. In addition, service work (maintenance and repair) is carried out by our own workshops. In all three countries, there are also separate subsidiaries active in the leasing business. The activities in Asia are now limited to purchasing for the project business in Bremen. With the sale of the Achelis company in Taiwan at the end of 2017, the group only has one company in Hong Kong, whose activities were discontinued years ago. Achelis is therefore today a pure Africa company with the clear objective to expand both the product portfolio, as well as the sales markets on the African continent.

The EUBG was established in 2015 to provide a united voice for the EU private sector, whilst also providing support and access to information for our members. The EUBG increases the level of strategic information communicated between the private sector and the government on economic, social and legislative matters. We also increase the interaction and flow of information between the private sector and Diplomats to increase the power of our economic diplomacy. We aim to create a suitable framework for dialogue with the Government of Tanzania and other stakeholders on building a stable environment for business and investment. I advocate, with and on the behalf of our members, to the Tanzanian government to tackle common challenges on issues such as taxation, investment, immigration and customs procedures.
