Impossible Objects, based in Northbrook, IL, has developed a completely new 3D printing technology. Our process is composite based and produces stronger, high precision, geometrically complex parts, with a wider variety of materials, faster than other methods. This gives us a clear design and manufacturing advantage. We produce parts using carbon fiber, fiberglass and Kevlar among other materials with mechanical properties many times better than other methods. Our process allows a freedom of design and build capability for geometries that were previously not possible. Our products are used for applications in the Aerospace, Aviation, Automotive, Athletics, Defense, Healthcare, Industrial, Marine and Robotics industries.

Global IP has a singular focus: helping intellectual-property owners maximize value of their assets. Our firm's uniqueness arises from its deep expertise across the full spectrum of monetization options, including traditional IP enforcement, patent portfolio evaluation and management, patent-sales transactions, and IP evaluation for financial institutions. Our experience with all these options informs every one of our engagements, providing our clients with a broad and unmatched perspective.
The results speak for themselves: the largest overall patent sale in history; the largest patent-backed debt offering in history; the highest per-family publicly-reported sales price in history; and countless successes at the district courts, Federal Circuit, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.
Our engagements typically fall within the following categories:
IP ENFORCEMENT
We develop and execute innovative licensing strategies based on each individual client’s risk profile to maximize the benefit to the client while reducing risk to a prudent level. Our experience in a wide array of patent-related engagements benefits our clients, providing a unique perspective on both primary and alternative strategies that may be available.
PATENT SALES
We have a finely-tuned sales process, including positioning patent portfolios to maximize sales price, based on the experience of hundreds of successful sales and our extensive industry contacts.
EVALUATION AND VALUATION SERVICES
We combine legal, technical, and financial expertise to provide patent portfolio valuations used by patent owners, financiers, and third parties.
STRATEGIC IP COUNSELING
We counsel clients on how to optimize their investment in their patent portfolios and realize maximum return on that investment.
FINANCIAL RESTRUCTURING
We advise on matters related to a distressed or bankrupt entity’s IP, including selling non-core patent assets to provide liquidity to the entity or recovery to the estate.
