After founder Dan Han had a conversation with his girlfriend (who is an optometrist) about the eyewear industry, he was given close-up look at the flaws it carries. Upon researching the prices and the quality, he was left wondering why all of his friends and family members were shelling out exorbitant amounts of money for their eyewear. He immediately recognized the need to serve a market where customers are tired of limited and over-priced choices, dominated by a few very large manufacturers.
