International IoT Distribution (IIOTD) aims to become the single one-stop-shop for the sourcing, brokering, and wholesale distribution of top-of-the-line, quality-tested Sigfox certified devices. In the current Internet of Things landscape, both manufacturers of IoT devices and Sigfox network operators are each facing many of the same challenges as their competitors or peers.
Manufacturers, on one hand, are commonly characterized by being small start-ups consisting of technical minded individuals with backgrounds in electrical engineering and computer science who have no prior experience or education in business, marketing, contract negotiations, sales management, or support services. These tasks are time-consuming and lie outside the manufacturer's core competencies, but are nevertheless required for a successful business.
Sigfox Operators and other distributors of IoT devices, on the other hand, currently operate independently and without coordination with each other resulting in a substantial amount of work redundancy, with multiple distributors spending time searching for the same type of products and quality-testing the exact same devices for their commercial viability. Another consequence of distributors operating independently is that their purchasing power is fragmented, with many distributors placing separate orders for the same devices resulting in higher unit costs than if the orders were to be consolidated and placed as a single order. Just like manufacturers, distributors also need to keep track of multiple contracts and agreements at once while maintaining a constant dialogue when support inquiries are unable to be unresolved by the distributors themselves.
The problems which both of these types of companies are facing, calls for a change in the global Internet of Things landscape and warrants the establishment of an organisation that manages these services on a global scale. That's where we come in.
