In 2016, Cynthia Barnes, a successful (but frustrated) woman in sales, began to wonder... “In a world where traditional sales approaches were created by men, for men, at a time when men made up the majority of every sales force, what would happen if women sales professionals had access to sales training and development created by women, exclusively for women?” “How much faster could women reach the top of the leaderboard if they had access to resources that addressed their unique challenges and amplified their innate strengths?” “What would happen if organizations shifted from the token adding of women into their existing traditionally male cultures to actually creating cultures where Women in Sales felt a sense of inclusion and belonging?” So she started traveling the country sharing her ideas and asking questions. Lots of questions. “What I discovered is that not only were women craving an alternative to traditional sales approaches, companies around the globe were searching for the best ways to attract, hire, develop, and retain top female sales talent. I’ll admit, even I was surprised at the pent up demand on both sides for a better solution. What started out as a few reflective questions morphed into the #WomenInSales Movement,” Cynthia shares. So after many presentations, training sessions, and meetings with thousands of women sales professionals, Cynthia came to the simple observation: Women in Sales are tired of the status quo. They want the opportunity to compete on a level playing field and work with organizations that value them and their contributions. It was time to address the unique challenges that women in sales face on a day-to-day basis. Time to amplify the strengths that are inherent in women.
