BRIKS is a Belgian investment club for students engaged in value investing. BRIKS was founded in 2011 by four entrepreneurial engineering students and has as mission to bring ambitious students and investors together in order to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and contacts. BRIKS consists of two branches: 1) BRIKS Leuven: a local branch based in Leuven run by students and 2) BRIKS Alumni a more international branch run by professionals. BRIKS Leuven offers opportunities to students who are relatively new to the financial markets as well as to students who are well experienced. BRIKS Leuven assembles every week in the center of Leuven to discuss the current portfolio, investment opportunities and asset allocation strategies. The main focus lies on equities, but investments in bonds and derivatives are not excluded. BRIKS Alumni consists of a diverse and international network of professionals active in inter alia consulting, investment banking and law. At EBBC we strongly believe in self-education. Knowledge is power, right? Self-education combined with social learning is what we strive for. This makes a dangerously interesting cocktail, best served to an ambitious, entrepreneurial, and enthusiastic crowd. Every month the members of the EBBC get together to actively engage around a (business-related) book or an interesting topic. These sessions are moderated by knowledgeable members, authors, or industry/subject matter experts. Figuring out how to apply certain concepts in the real world, sharing personal experiences, and generating new ideas are only a few of the outcomes we look for during each get-together. Het Trissen team gelooft dat websites intuïtief en elegant zouden moeten zijn. Met die visie in het achterhoofd proberen wij het studentenleven aangenamer te maken door op onze site een steeds groeiende hoeveelheid apps aan te bieden. De bedoeling is dat men op de site uiteindelijk nagenoeg alle nodige studentikoze info kan vinden. Hier wordt hard aan gebouwd: dankzij onze hardwerkende vrijwilligers zal bij de start van het academiejaar 2012-2013 het aantal apps op de site verdubbeld zijn. Bovendien zullen er weldra mobiele versies van Trissen beschikbaar zijn voor iOS en Android. Om een idee te krijgen van de werking van de site nodig ik u uit om eens wat rond te neuzen op www.trissen.be. Naast het aanbieden van deze apps dient Trissen ook als een klankbord voor de studentengemeenschap. Wij zijn actief in alle sociale media, zo volgen reeds 3000+ studenten onze facebookpagina. Geregeld organiseren wij grote marketingcampagnes om onszelf en onze partners onder de aandacht van de studenten te brengen. Die partners, waaronder o.a. ING, Kinepolis en Mise en Place, stellen ons in staat om de aandacht van de studenten te belonen met mooie prijzen. Dit alles wordt mogelijk gemaakt door studenten Burgerlijk Ingenieur Computerwetenschappen, Informatica, Handelsingenieur en Webdesign. In totaal zetten 12 mensen zich in voor Trissen.
