Inspired by the belief that every child deserves an equal opportunity to learn, nearly 200 Ravenswood Classroom Partners volunteers work with Ravenswood City School District teachers to support the success of students in East Palo Alto and eastern Menlo Park.
In this school district, 60% of the students are English learners, about 90% are low income, over 80% are below grade level and reading and math, and over 40% are in unstable housing or considered homeless. Ravenswood Classroom Partners supports students facing these challenges.
Our dedicated, trained volunteers are a consistent, caring presence in the lives of these children, working weekly in the same classroom with the same students throughout the school year.
Ravenswood teachers rely on RCP volunteers to help improve the academic performance and social-emotional well-being of the students. RCP is a key component of the district’s literacy intervention strategy and supports grades Transitional Kindergarten through 5th.

Established in 1982, the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation (MPAEF) seeks to enable the Menlo Park City School District (MPCSD) to provide an exceptional education to students at Laurel, Encinal, Oak Knoll, and Hillview schools. Working with parents, local businesses, community members, and the District, we raise money to pay for high-quality teachers, a comprehensive educational program, and teaching innovation beyond what is possible with public dollars alone. Our most recent grant to the District in June 2013 was for $3.6 million and funded 32 educators.
The Foundation is committed to conducting its fundraising in a manner that enhances a positive sense of community, fosters cooperation among all District organizations, and increases awareness of the need for private funds for public education. Anyone can support our kids, educators, and schools by joining the Foundation. We thank all of the parents, family members, teachers, staff, businesses, and community members who have done so this year—and over the past three decades!
MPAEF is a California non-profit, public benefit corporation. It is a tax exempt organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the US Internal Revenue Code. Our Federal Tax I.D. number is 94-2878701. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by law.
