HealthTech Capital is a group of private investors dedicated to funding and mentoring new “HealthTech” start ups at the intersection of healthcare and the computer/consumer electronic world.
Our goal is to invest and mentor capital efficient companies that use new scalable business model to improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery from the hospital to the home.
HealthTech is now an exploding healthcare market that leverages information technologies to decrease healthcare cost. Historically, venture funding has focused on “Efficacy” (therapeutics drugs and medical devices) and paid little attention to improving “Efficiencies” of healthcare delivery. Today, new paradigm shifting companies like Google, Microsoft, Intel, Apple, Amazon and others are turning their attention to HealthTech.
HealthTech supports patient-centric healthcare and is distinct from Healthcare IT, enterprise backbone legacy information systems that are well served by existing major players. Our goal is to invest in capital efficient companies that use new business models to improve the efficiency of healthcare delivery.

The U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 "to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defense…" With an annual budget of more than $8 billion, NSF is the funding source for approximately 20 percent of all federally supported basic research conducted by America’s colleges and universities. In many fields, such as mathematics, computer science, and the social sciences, NSF is the major source of federal backing.
NSF awards about 11,000 new awards per year, with an average duration of three years -- to fund specific research proposals that have been judged the most promising by a rigorous and objective merit-review system. In the past few decades, NSF-funded researchers have won more than 200 Nobel Prizes as well as other honors too numerous to list. NSF funds equipment that is needed by scientists and engineers but is often too expensive for any one group or researcher to afford. Another essential element in NSFs mission is support for science and engineering education, from pre-K through graduate school and beyond.
There are many exciting careers at NSF, not only in science, technology, education and mathematics (STEM), but also in business and operations. For more information, please visit us at http://nsf.gov/careers/.
NSF welcomes opportunities to engage with you on our LinkedIn page. Please see our Comment Policy [http://www.nsf.gov/social/policies.jsp ] for more information.

Im passionate about learning and helping others achieve success. I love jumping in the middle of things and working with an entrepreneur and business leaders to develop their idea into a solid value proposition and sustainable business.
With extensive global leadership experience focused in healthcare and MedTech, I bring a wealth of knowledge on go-to-market strategies, ideation, commercialization, business expansion, strategic partnerships, and growth acceleration. I focus on branding, storytelling, investments, leadership development, sales, and marketing. I’ve demonstrated success in building teams, performance management, and leadership growth, as well as the ability to take on individual contributor responsibilities to ensure execution. I enjoy leading teams to lay down a foundation for lasting success and profitable growth.
How do I do all this? I have an extensive network of high-potential investors, access to regulatory and market experts, and relationships with providers and payers. I understand what is needed for investments, partnerships, and funding strategies. I spread my knowledge as an adjunct professor for the National Science Foundation, I-Corps, and the Canadian Technology Accelerator. I look at problems with a lens to create something better, rather than simply focusing on improving what already exists. I lead teams to create the foundation for lasting success and profitable growth.
I’m also a musician (and I use the term loosely), father, and investor. I enjoy playing with the “Grateful Dads” at my daughter’s school in fun musicals like the “Three Piggy Opera” and “Goin’ Buggy” and I love rockin’ out with The Insanes (INSEAD Alumni band) in various locations around the world performing at charity fundraisers. We love traveling as a family and relish our memories of living in Singapore, Canada, France, and England.
