THE DREAM A daring dream was the spark that catalysed the Big Tiny experience. From one of the most densely populated cities in the world, Singapore, to a farm in the rural outskirts of Australia — the nomadic lifestyle is the perfect getaway from the hectic, digitally-connected lifestyle of the urbanite. Down Under, surrounded by vast greenery and beautiful sunsets, Big Tiny’s founders found solace beneath the starry skies… And yearned to create similar experiences for city folk. Observing the challenges presented to landowners, whose livelihood depended on Mother Nature, the ideation process of Big Tiny began as a mutually-beneficial solution. THE EXPERIENCE Each Big Tiny house features eco-friendly elements – amenities powered by electricity harvested from solar panels, composting toilets and a rainwater collection system. Targeting small families looking to strengthen familial bonds in an off-the-grid, back-to-nature setting, the tiny house movement has also gained momentum overseas as a form of eco-tourism. The sustainability movement imbues another layer of mindfulness to this unique travel experience for nomadic travellers looking to connect with nature, as well as city dwellers looking for the perfect spot to recharge.
