The Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) has been established according to the Law No.3 of 2005 on the Protection of Competition and the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices to ensure free competition and free entry to and exit from the market.
The Authority is affiliated to the Prime Minister and is responsible for monitoring the market and enforcing the provisions of the Law. It receives complaints and can initiate inspections when in doubt of malpractice that may harm competition and is in violation of the provisions of the law. The main purpose of the law is for the welfare of the public providing for the developments of a variety of products and services at fair value.
On a wider scale, ECA is working for promoting competition culture and broadening people's awareness of the provisions of the law. Also, it coordinates with different sector regulatory bodies, as well as interacts with national and international organizations to exchange opinions and experiences in the field of competition and to build the institutional and human capacity of the Authority.

The National Investment Bank (NIB) was established in Egypt as per a special law ( no. 119 of 1980 ) in order to finance and monitor national projects via either equity participation or lending to such projects as well as following up and monitoring the progress of such projects.
NIB is considered as the state's main economic and investment tool aiming to implement its economic and social plans. NIB helped in the construction of massive infrastructure in all fields that greatly added to the productive capacities.
The bank's chairman of the board of director is the Minister of Planning.

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) is the principal governmental authority responsible for regulating and facilitating the investment procedures and climate in Egypt. GAFIs scope is not limited at being a regulatory investment authority, but it is also a proactive investment promotion agency that relies on its research and market intelligence tools, its aftercare and promotion bodies, as well as its startup incubator in order to enhance the investment environment and position Egypt as a leading economy worldwide.
