A Breeze of Hope is a Philadelphia based 501(c)(3) public charity that implements and provides technical and financial assistance to programs that [1] implements and supports projects that provide free comprehensive services to child and adolescent victims of sexual violence; [2] works to eradicate sexual violence through transdisciplinary prevention strategies; and that [3] promotes healthy, comprehensive childhood development. We believe that to prevent sexual violence and other forms of violence against children, there must be a paradigm shift in the way society as a whole sees and interacts with children. We must see children as social protagonists, as competent members of society with dignity and rights. We must interact with them in ways that respect their competence and that foster their self-agency. In essence, we must work with this generation of children to prevent next generations problems (e.g. sexual violence and other forms of violence, addiction, indifference to the suffering of others, ill health, etc.).
