Background
The General Authority for Military Industries was established in 2017 as the regulating body to enable the national defense capabilities. As a regulator, The Authority is entrusted with three strategic priorities, namely localizing more than 50% of the Kingdom’s spending on defense requirements, promoting military spending efficiency, and propelling the industry through centralized research and development.

Dhahran Techno Valley Holding Company (DTVC) – a wholly owned subsidiary of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) – is a key driver of the Dhahran Techno Valley Ecosystem, which was created to promote a knowledge-based economy in Dhahran and in the Eastern Province. This ecosystem includes KFUPM, national champions such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC and SEC, technology partners and small to medium size enterprises.
DTVC is composed of a holding structure that includes a holding company (DTV Holding Company) and three independent subsidiaries (DTV Technology Development Company, DTV Knowledge Company and DTV Investment Company). The role of the “Holding Company” is to provide strategic guidance, control and support capabilities to its three subsidiaries in addition to an identity that should bring together all the elements of this structure.
Dhahran Techno Valley Technology Development Company (DTV TDC) is the key driver in the establishment of a knowledge-based ecosystem in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, a model that can be replicated across the Kingdom. DTV TDC is responsible for the management of the Dhahran Techno Valley Science Park and commercialization of technology emanating from the research activity occurring in the ecosystem.
Dhahran Techno Valley Knowledge Company (DTV KC) is established to become a regional center of excellence for capabilities development and the transformation of knowledge into know-how. DTV KC services include offering training and consultancy services, managing K-12 schools, and hosting science and technology related events.
Dhahran Techno Valley Investment Company (DTV IC) is established to become the leading real estate development company and a trusted investment partner to KFUPM. DTV IC is responsible for all aspects of the development, delivery and management of the Business Park, in addition to providing advisory and investment management services that would enhance the advancement of the ecosystem.

The Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) was established by Royal Decree No. M / 22 dated 4/18/1430 AH corresponding to 4/14/2009 AD as a Saudi joint-stock company owned by the Public Investment Fund. Its doctrine stipulates that all its investment activities should be both inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in order to achieve a food security strategy by providing food products and stabilizing their prices. This is done through establishing subsidiary companies or through national, regional, and international partnerships.
