bitBiome is a synthetic biology company built from their proprietary microbial single-cell microfluidic sequencing technology (bit-MAP). We have spent the last few years building up a large and diverse database (bit-GEM) of over 2 billion microbial sequences (adding additional sequences at a rate of nearly 1 billion per year). bit-GEM draws from many sources including human, animal, and over half coming from environmental samples including soil, seawater and hot springs. bit-GEM therefore offers a unique source of natural enzymes not found in any other private or public sequence library available.
