Spreading the wonder of honey bees. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission that seeks to educate, train, and bring awareness to people of all ages, especially youth, on the importance of honey bees and how they are essential to our environment and food industry. To achieve this awareness, we partner with individuals and businesses by setting up and maintaining beehives and providing educational classes. These hives provide awareness of the honey bees’ plight and help the environment by increasing pollinators while providing a visual training ground.
You sponsor, we do all the work.
When you sponsor a beehive, you leave the hive management to us and YOU get the HONEY! We will set up a bee hive at any location you choose and manage the hive throughout the year. Hive management includes: Feeding bees when necessary, Treating for disease,Managing against swarming, Adding boxes amidst a growing colony, Extracting honey, Insulating the hives in winter and much more
After honey extraction, we give you all the honey and prepare for the next year.
What can I do with my honey? Design your own jar label and give it away for gifts, use it in cooking. The honey is yours to enjoy! The average output is approximately 50 lbs of honey depending upon many variables like weather, nectar flow and growth of the colony.
Why is hive sponsorship important? You are increasing the number of active pollinators in your local area and are helping to raise awareness through education, especially for our youth, about the honey bees’ plight. Learning how to keep a bee hive is fun and unique.
It would be great to know what your neighborhood tastes like. Honey bees commandeer pollen and nectar from your neighbors’ flowers, trees, and plants, and bring that back to your hive for you to taste and enjoy !
How much does it cost to sponsor a hive? $2,000 is the suggested annual federal tax deductible sponsorship donation amount.
