Growing up is tough. Growing up without the resources and support you need is even tougher. Wings for Kids is on a mission to equip kids in at-risk communities with the social emotional skills they need to succeed in school, stay in school, and thrive in life. Since 1996, we have dedicated ourselves to helping close the opportunity and achievement gap for under-resourced schools by providing a safe place for kids to be after school and by fostering the perseverance, resilience, and optimism needed to navigate and cope with life’s challenges. Headquartered in Charleston, SC, Wings for Kids is recognized as a national expert in social emotional learning and operates afterschool programs in Title I elementary schools in Atlanta, GA, Charleston, SC, and Columbia, SC. Additionally, WINGS works in partnership with other schools and organizations nationwide that seek to implement effective social emotional learning initiatives and has provided free curriculum to teachers nationwide, reaching more than 2.6 million to date.
