The Investment Society (Formerly known as University of Lagos Students Investment Society) was founded in 2016 by a group of students keen to share and expand their knowledge of finance and consulting.
First of its kind in any Nigerian University, we aim to teach, educate, groom and prepare members for elite careers in finance, investment and consulting.
As a society that thrives on knowledge hungry members; we aim to provide our members with the strong foundation necessary to begin a successful career - whilst also working hard to achieve superb academic grades. This is both for our members who are looking simply to understand better what a finance and consulting career entails, as well as those who are hoping to begin their career, build networks, and apply for insights and internships and other opportunities in financial services firms.
Through sponsor-led workshops, intensive training programs, stock pitch and business case competitions, networking sessions, and on-campus recruiting events, we aim to bring our sponsor and members together.
We essentially want to build the bridge between students and employees (theory and practice) and ensure that the students of the society succeed in what they want to do. We hope to train and develop members who would rise to become seasoned financial analysts and top policy
