The Rice Box is a Chinese takeout bar from the future: old-school American-Chinese food, cooked from scratch and to order in Houston since 2011. We started as a food truck. Our first permanent location opened in the Greenway Plaza food court, and today we run shops in the Heights, River Oaks, Rice Village, Hedwig Village, and Greenway Plaza. We wok-fire every plate to order. We make our dumpling skins ourselves, obsess over noodles, fried rice, crispy chicken, sauces, heat, texture, and how the food travels. The menu never sits still as we iterate, upgrade, and keep chasing a better version. Fifteen years in, we are still chasing the final boss. Enjoy Chinese food life!
