The Encore Fellowships Network is a community of Encore Fellows programs across the US with a common mission to bring a powerful new source of talent to the task of solving social issues. These paid, time-limited Fellowships match skilled, experienced professionals at the end of their midlife careers with social-purpose organizations.
During the Fellowship period (typically six to 12 months, half to full time), the Fellows take on roles that bring significant, sustained impact to their host organizations. While they are working, the Fellows earn a stipend, learn about social-purpose work, and develop a new network of contacts and resources for the future.
Encore Fellowships roles draw on the experience fellows bring from their previous careers in functions including marketing/communications, finance, human resources, information technology, strategy and operations. Fellows often serve the nonprofits they are matched with as coaches, consultants, or staff.
The programs are funded, organized and operated by autonomous organizations working together, coordinated by a small central hub operated by Civic Ventures, the founder and creator of Encore Fellows. Each local program is funded and sponsored by foundations and companies as well as the participating nonprofits.
