Many men have internalized outdated and harmful beliefs about what it means to be a man. As men we often believe that ‘real men’ don’t show emotions, shouldn’t express their feelings, and that doing so makes us less of a man. This outdated way of thinking is not only harmful for men, it is harmful for everyone their lives touch.
tethr is the first mobile, peer-to-peer community that connects men for open conversations about life issues and mental health in a safe, barrier free environment.
tethr provides the space all men need to speak openly, receive and provide support, express buried emotions, and safely explore any aspect of their personality or personal life preferences they don’t feel comfortable sharing with their existing network.
tethr allows any man regardless of age, race, sexual orientation, economic status, or anything else to create new friend groups and support structures, connect directly with other men through common experience, and have the open and honest conversations that are the antidote to isolation and despair.
Our goal is to provide 5 million men with a safe, barrier free community where they can connect with each other, heal from the issues that affect their lives, and develop a healthier and more positive view of what it means to be a man for the benefit of everyone in society.
