Standard Biocarbon has developed an efficient scalable model for production of high quality EBC standard biochar. Biochar has multiple existing and emerging applications in agriculture, remediation, materials many addressing climate change resiliency. Biochar has also emerged as a leading pathway for long term atmospheric C02 removal and generates certified carbon removal credits traded in private markets. Co-locating with sawmills with state of the art equipment imported from Germany, we use mill residuals to manufacture clean, consistent high carbon biochar while returning valuable thermal energy to the mill. The first plant is scheduled for commissioning in mid 2022 in central Maine. SBCs vision is to scale by replicating the model at the dozens of similar sawmill sites in our region. SBC is currently under agreement with lumber companies operating a total of 8 sawmills, each with capacity for over 5000t/yr of biochar production. This is a capital intensive business. Our growth is limited only by our ability to bring in partners. New plants can go online in less than 12 months.
