Sila Connection is the umbrella organization for the many upcoming Sila conferences and was founded at New York University Abu Dhabi. The Sila conferences are student-led and will involve all local universities in the region to collaboratively explore local issues. At the Sila conferences, we invite speakers to encourage and broaden the visions of our participants, and to strive for development and improvements in the local community. During a Sila conference, local students will engage in cross-cultural exploration and share ideas to develop viable solutions to their communities’ most pressing issues. We aim to connect students and to encourage them to innovate pioneering solutions, foster an integrated network and tackle world issues from a grass root level. The first Sila conference will be held in Abu Dhabi on November 23-24, 2012, at New York University Abu Dhabi’s Downtown Campus. On board on the planning process are a handful of Abu Dhabi universities: - Abu Dhabi University - Higher Colleges of Technology - Khalifa University - Masdar Institute of Science and Technology - New York University Abu Dhabi - Petroleum Institute - University of Paris-Sorbonne - Zayed University
