The sigo green GmbH is a company based in Darmstadt that operates electric cargo bikes and e-bikes in a sharing system. The company is one of the first nationwide providers of a fully automated electric cargo bike system, featuring inductive charging stations. Specifically designed cargo bikes have been developed for the sharing service, boasting high-quality technology, durability and user-friendliness. These bikes are charged inductively at stationary stations, ensuring their quick availability. Thanks to a dedicated app, rentals are not restricted by opening hours.
sigo operates a B2B2C business model, targeting both end-users and partners, such as real estate companies, municipalities, institutions, public transportation, energy providers, and project developers.
Through the sharing model, neighborhoods become more attractive for tenants, parking spaces become obsolete, and ultimately, the use of sigo electric cargo bikes contributes to urban tranquility and climate protection.
The company was founded in May 2017. In February 2020, in collaboration with Nassauische Heimstätte, the first location in Darmstadt was launched. Subsequently, the rollout of additional locations began. sigo is now present in over 40 cities across Germany.
In September 2023, sigo was successfully acquired by Fanta4 GmbH, a renowned investment company specializing in sustainable startups.
