The Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction will be the first market addressed by SentinHealth. Heart failure (HF) is a major public health concern affecting approximately 15 million people in Europe, account for nearly 2% of the total annual health care budget (75% of which is due to hospitalization [1]). The severity of HF is marked by repeated unplanned hospitalizations due to Acute Decompensated HF (ADHF). There are around 150,000 admissions per year in France with more than 50% of HF patients requiring multiple hospitalization. These acute episodes have a poor prognosis resulting in the patient being hospitalized twice and having a 40% risk of death within the next year. The current medical challenge of reducing these recurrent hospitalization rests in the early detection of ADHF at a pre-hospitalization stage. This will save crucial time and assist in providing the right kind of medical treatment to the patient.
Following this promising approach for very early intervention in cases of ADHF, SentinHealth’s strategy is to provide a remote monitoring system for the integrated management of HF through a minimally-invasive device capable of recording multimodal parameters.
