I am incredibly proud to announce the official launch of Save Our Streams USA.
For years, through Fly Fishing North Georgia, I have guided clients through the
majestic coldwater streams of our region. I’ve seen firsthand the delicate balance of these environments—and how rapidly expanding regional development, unpaved roads, agriculture, unnecessary land clearing and mowing, and extreme
stormwater runoff are threatening them.
We are launching Save Our Streams to bridge two critical worlds:
1 Advanced coldwater trout stream geomorphology and ecology.
2 High-yield compensatory mitigation banking under CWA Section 404.
By utilizing Natural Channel Design (NCD)—which leverages native logs, root wads, and boulder cross-vanes—we reconstruct a stream’s stable historic "footing" instead of allowing it
to widen, warm, and erode.
The result?
Permanent bank stabilization, a massive biological lift for wild trout, and high-quality compensatory stream credits that fast-track Clean Water Act compliance for regional developers.
We are establishing our showcase commercial bank at Royas Cabin along Anderson Creek, restoring 2,500 linear feet of perennial channel and generating over 12,900 stream credits.
A huge thank you to my Board Member, Hadi Irvani (GP at Infill Capital Partners) for his capital governance and partnership.
We’re ready to get our boots in the mud. Let’s restore some streams.
