Safe Spaces For Black Women

🗓 Founded 2020👥 2 employees
Dear beautiful, courageous Black Woman, We see you. We understand the pain. The anger, the frustration and your exhaustion. We feel you. And we invite you in. We are safe spaces for black women, an initiative born out of the levels of frustration we felt as black women, being unable to speak freely as we thought. At the height of the black lives matter resurgence, it felt difficult to unpack what was happening all around us and breathe. As we were, without responding, defending but just being who we truly are. We were looking for spaces we could be present in. Without judgement and obligation; and when we couldn’t find that space, so we resolved to create it. We, as black women, want others like us to be held. Held in safe spaces to share where we are, our hopes and our fears; without fear and without judgement, in the first instance. So we have created a space for us, by us and we invite you in. “Self care is a revolutionary act of radical self love” - Audre Lorde But we know too well how sometimes, its difficult to even know where to begin. We invite you to begin the journey with us. No obligation, but the opportunity to try. Doing this as a collective, we believe, provides an opportunity to connect with others, unravel what we dont always know how to say and begin together. Begin the journey of radical self care, as it needs to be for each of us. We are so excited to have you here. With love and light, Leyla and Fatima xXx
