Polytechnique Ventures is the seed fund of Ecole Polytechnique, created in 2020. Financed by the Alumni, the fund accompanies and invests in start-ups from the Ecole Polytechniques innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem. We target companies that will provide powerful solutions to the challenges of the transition to tomorrows world. We support start-ups emanating from the Ecole Polytechnique ecosystem: founded by one or more Ecole Polytechnique alumni, incubated at Ecole Polytechnique or emanating from the schools laboratories. Our investment strategy is focused on early stage financing, in co-investment, with average initial tickets of €250K to €500K in pre-seed and seed, followed by reinvestments in series A (average ticket per company of about €2.5m). We give priority to ambitious deep tech teams, able to transform the industrial sectors they target. We cover a wide range of sectors, derived from the Schools areas of technological excellence: energy, climate and environment; mobility, transport and aerospace; biomedical engineering and health; industry 4.0 and robotics; IoT and digital applications; digital economy; cybersecurity; new materials; finance ... We are focused on the values of proximity, notably with entrepreneurs and the Ecole Polytechnique ecosystem; of experience through the Alumni network and the X community; and of generosity from all stakeholders to the community built around the fund.
