What does it take to provide youth real opportunities to deal with the biggest challenge of their generation, climate change? Parents, from all countries, want their children to spend their summers productively and educationally. Why not make summer camps into something more than a cram course for English or computer programming? www.PlanetLabs.Earth, designed to be an international camp modeled on the Luethi Peterson Camps (www.luethipetersoncamps.org ), focuses on the global community, especially including Asia, China, and Russia. The curriculum of the camp is heavily project-based, targeting authentic solutions to global warming of a technology, business, or policy-based nature. We now have two years of experience delivering this program. We are ready to scale up with a target of 500 campers in 2020. Our program delivers true immersive English. It trains kids in the educational habits most in demand from the best colleges in the world: collaboration, self-management, and open-ended problem-solving. And, it provides kids real exposure to a very diverse group of Campers from (so far) over a dozen nations or ethnic backgrounds. Come join us!
