Origen was founded by preeminent thinkers in carbon removal and industrial technology, who believed in the power of limestone to permanently sequester CO2 and reverse the impacts of climate change. They developed the first iteration of Origens technology and proved that our concept for limestone-based direct air capture (DAC) could be used to remove billions of tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere. Over the last several years, Origen has built an industrial scale pilot, R&D facility, and commercial partnerships with industry leaders to develop the next generation of DAC. With DAC and carbon removal now considered “inevitable” to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change, Origen’s next phase of growth will create a lasting impact by removing CO2 directly from the air at meaningful scale.
