Founded in September 2012 at the Embassy of Nigeria in Lisbon, the Nigeria Portugal Friendship & Business Association has already among its members reputed companies and organizations such as, for example, SIBS INTERNATIONAL, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System, Novabase, Union Bank, and as its honorary members the Nigerian Ambassador to Portugal, the Portuguese Ambassador to Nigeria and the Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria. The main objectives of the association are: promote and assist trade and encourage the development of business and economic, social and institutional relations between Nigeria and Portugal; accompany the decision-making process of the public power in matters that affect bilateral business dealings; develop and carry out social, cultural and artistic projects that promote and disseminate the Nigerian and Portuguese cultures and customs; promote networks of contacts between the two countries; intervene as mediator or referee, in the cases that are submitted to it.
