Movvo is headquartered in London with a substantial R&D facility in Porto, Portugal where the company was founded. The team is split between these offices, Hong Kong and has sales representation globally. We have clients in the USA, Europe, Asia Pac & Africa and continue to grow in these continents and beyond. Our customer base includes Sonae Sierra, Telefónica O2, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, South Port, Urban Development Group and Menlyn Maine.
Founded in 2009 by three researchers from Oporto University, Portugal, the company was initially funded via grants from the Portuguese government and MIT. In October 2014 Movvo raised €1.6 million in seed funding led by Caixa Capital and Sonae E.Ventures and in June 2016, Movvo closed €5.5 million series A funding co-led by Caixa Capital and Sonae IM.
