Misr Glass Manufacturing Company S.A.E (MGM) is an Egyptian joint stock company specialized in the production of quality lightweight flint, green and amber glass containers to international standards for a variety of consumer and pharmaceutical products.
MGM, which was established in 2004 under law 8 of 1997, purchased the fixed assets of El-Nasr Glass Company at Mustorod, which was sold as part of Egypt’s privatization program. El-Nasr Glass Factory was a public sector company established in 1970 using at that time the latest technology of glass formation to manufacture new types of light weight bottles and pharmaceutical ampoules.
Combining the strategic experience of the El Zayat Group management team, the expertise of El-Nasr employees who joined MGM after acquisition and large new investments to acquire state-of-the-art technology in glass forming and ampoule manufacturing along with international technical know-how, MGM increased its annual production capacity using 3 brand new furnaces. The increase in production capacity has underpinned MGM’s success in the local and international markets.
With headquarters in Cairo, MGM provides superior services for the production and decoration of glass containers for consumer and pharmaceutical products, serving both the domestic and international markets. Our goal is to go beyond the expectations of every client by offering outstanding customer service and high-quality products both for the local & international markets.
Due to MGM’s good results and ambitious goals, the management attracted investment from a leading private equity fund in September 2007 when Glass Works Limited (a subsidiary of Citadel Capital, one of the largest private equity firms in the MENA Region) bought a stake of 35% in MGM.
While maintaining high standards and quality, MGM has established a new subsidiary company in the 10th of Ramadan City; United Glass Containers Company (UGC) to manufacture glass containers and ampoules.
