MISTER MINIT is best known for shoe repair and key duplication, our core business. However, engraving, stamps, watch battery and strap replacement and recently smartphone repairs, complete our offer. The MISTER MINIT story begins in 1957 in Brussels. It’s the era of the stiletto heels, which are worn by most women. Many of them broke their heels on the cobbled streets of Brussels. Mr Donald Hillsdon Ryan, whose wife had to cope with the same discomfort, is astonished to find out that it takes at least 10 days to have them repaired by a local cobbler. The conclusion was obvious. There was a real need for a rapid and efficient shoe repair service. On the 14th July 1957, Mr Ryan, together with his business partner Mr Donald W. Philips, opens the first heel bar “Talon Minute” in the Au Bon Marché store, located in the rue Neuve in Brussels. This first heel bar is a real success. Other shops are being opened in Belgium, causing the same enthusiasm among customers Encouraged by this success, MISTER MINIT expands to France and Switzerland in 1958, to Germany in 1959, to Finland in 1962, to Spain in 1966, to The Netherlands in 1972, to the Czech Republic, Estonia and Portugal in 1996. In 2001, MISTER MINIT opens its first shop in Poland. Today, MISTER MINIT has almost 1.100 shops in Europe, 245 of which are franchised.
