MAKALU are a Special Situations focused company We look for opportunities in companies with capital structure problems, without access to capital markets or commercial banks, good (and committed) management teams and with business poised to benefit from the restructuring process (1) Debt Structuring High-yield and distress; Solution to companies with capital structure problems and viable businesses (2) Debt Restructuring Judicial or out-of-court renegotiation with creditors; Tax renegotiation with tax authorities; Management liability (3) NPL Advice for creditors and international investors in the sale of NPLs or public debt instruments; Acquisition of single-name NPLs (4) Judicial Assets Structuring of financial transactions involving judicial assets; Private claims, pre-precatórios, precatórios and tax assets with good merit, quantum certainty and solid counterparties (5) Farmland REITs Investment fund focused on the acquisition of farmlands predominantly with first-tier tenants, destined for the cultivation of grains, timber and/or sugarcane and located in consolidated areas; The funds structure remunerates shareholder with (i) income from leasing, (ii) upside in leasing negotiation (increase in productivity) and (iii) farmland appreciation; The undetermined duration period allows a greater flexibility to sell assets in the appropriate timing. (6) Feeders Structuring of feeders for public equity investments in selected countries in Asia and Africa that are not yet available in the domestic market, and other offshore alternative investment strategies (private equity, real estate and hedge funds) * For the past 5 years, we’ve been advising various clients in different products
