Founded in 1988 by Thomas L. Kempner, Loeb Arbitrage Management, LP and later Loeb Offshore Management, LP, collectively doing business as Loeb King Capital Management (the “Firm”), are Investment Advisers registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The Firm is a successor to Loeb Rhoades & Co., the investment banking firm launched in 1931 by financier/philanthropist Carl M. Loeb and sold to Shearson Hayden Stone in 1979. Gideon King, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer, joined the firm in 1993.
Since inception, Loeb King Capital Management has grown to include multiple funds and managed accounts. The Firm’s investment objective is to earn risk-adjusted returns by investing in event-driven and value opportunities.
