Listen First Advisory is an executive coaching & advisory practice focused on this difficult but powerful work, holistically. I work with CEOs, Founders, Senior Investors, and high-performing leaders, both individually and alongside their leadership teams.
I spent nearly twenty years in private equity, software investing, and management consulting at JMI Equity, ultimately as a General Partner, and earlier at McKinsey & Company. I understand what that pressure to perform feels like: the pace, the scrutiny, the way your sense of self quietly blends into your scorecard. My background means we can jump in quickly - what a board expects, what a tough quarter feels like, and what it costs to carry a company or a fund.
It also means something I hold carefully: Im not on anyones team but yours. Independent and objective, with real investor experience & context, willing (and wanting) to go deeper on what sits beyond the fiduciary boundaries of an investor.
Listen First grew out of years of wanting a space where I could show up as myself - as a professional, a leader, a family man, and a community builder. My work now centers on inviting others into this space.
Coaching relationships and Advisory engagements are ongoing and retainer-based, though flexible to mirror what serves you best. Sessions are typically bi-weekly with continuous interaction in between; I am in frequent touch with my clients, both live and async.
Our work covers all angles of business: AI strategy, leadership, board dynamics, fundraising and M&A, difficult decisions, and the people around you. It also covers what often goes unspoken - the pressure, the self-doubt, relationships outside of work, and the things that rarely have an open space to be discussed.
