Liminal Sensing turns the radio signals already in the air into an invisible perimeter for critical infrastructure.
Civil, telecom and satellite signals saturate every site on Earth. We place a handful of low-power, solar-powered receivers around an asset, learn its baseline RF environment, and detect the disturbances a person, vehicle or drone creates when they cross into the protected volume. No cameras. No fences. No active emitters. No trenching. Deployed in a day.
Because the system only listens, it transmits nothing — leaving an adversary nothing to detect, jam or spoof.
We start where the loss is real today: utility-scale solar. European solar farms lose 1–5% of asset value a year to theft and vandalism, and NIS2 and the CER Directive now oblige critical-infrastructure operators to detect and report physical intrusion. The same sensors extend to substations, telecom sites and remote grid assets.
Were a sensor layer, not a system replacement — integrating into the VMS, SOC and alarm stacks operators already run, and complementing cameras, fibre and radar rather than competing with them.
Liminal Sensing is built on six years of applied research at FADEC AB (est. 2018, Gothenburg), with roots at Chalmers and Uppsala Universitys Ångström Laboratory, a multi-year European Innovation Council project (2025–2028), and a strategic technology partnership with Thales.
Sensing what crosses the threshold.
