KeifeRx is a clinical-stage biotech developing medicines that restore autophagy, the brains own system for clearing out toxic proteins, to change the course of dementia. There is no approved drug that slows Lewy body dementia or Parkinsons disease dementia. In a placebo-controlled Phase 2 study at Georgetown University, oral nilotinib improved cognition and reduced falls by over 70% in people with dementia with Lewy bodies (Pagan et al., J Clin Med 2025). KeifeRx is developing a transdermal version designed for dementia patients. Our brain-penetrant kinase inhibitors target several drivers of neurodegeneration at once: toxic protein buildup, neuroinflammation and vascular damage. Programs include our lead program, KFRX01 (transdermal nilotinib, Lewy body dementia), KFRX03 (Alzheimers disease), KFRX06 (Parkinsons disease, in collaboration with Amneal Pharmaceuticals), KFRX04 (ALS) and KFRX05. KeifeRx holds an exclusive license from Georgetown University, where co-founders Dr. Charbel Moussa and Dr. Fernando Pagan developed the science.
