Kids become the stories they read. And the problem with finding good stories for children is the problem of
plenty. You never know if you have found the right one! “Are the stories any good..? Do they contain any harmful
influences..? There must surely be the good ones (…that I cannot find in the zillion search results I have drawn!)”
Questions abound, adding agony to the ever-present guilt of not doing better as a parent. We started out as
those very parents ourselves. And thanks to some skills we had and the company of like-minded friends, we could
do something about it.
Jumbaya was born.
We are an online library of thoughtfully crafted storybooks from around the world for children of ages 2-8 years.
Our stories are based on good values. They carry life lessons for kids -- No biases of gender, color, race, or
religion. No harming stereotypes and conditioning notions. We are about preserving innocence and opening
young minds wide while engaging curiosities and fanning their imaginations.
Stories can teach without trying too hard. We incorporate SLS (Same Language Subtitling) – for the perfect word
and enunciation match. They are presented at a pace that is just right for the immersion and comprehension of a
novice reader. Our ‘Read-Along’ feature is fun and helps a child independently read the storybook.
Our aim is to be the biggest online library of children’s storybooks across genres, such as morality, values,
animals, mythical creatures, fantasy, history, life skills, attitudes and behaviors, famous personalities, and more!
Visuals. Words. Animation. Music. And programming. All the crafting happens in-house at Jumbaya. Our story
smiths – writers, illustrators, artists, and engineers are folk in creative overdrive. Lots of coffee mugs! Lots of
epiphanies as talent meets child-like enthusiasm on these floors!
If we end up providing JOY to parents and children… we’d say, ‘We did pretty good!’
