Our story began with a little book… In 2018, our founder, Nick Bonney, was working with boutique hotels when he found himself in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Upon checking into Home Hotel, he received an unexpected gift from the hotel’s owner that sparked an idea… and Journey Maker was born. The gift was a small book filled with the owners local gems—her favourite places to grab a coffee, the best second hand shops, even some hidden bars you’d never find yourself. But there was something special about this book, it was making Nick feel like a local. From that moment, the team at Journey Maker have worked relentlessly to create a way to help others experience the world through the eyes of locals. Our AI-powered platform combines local knowledge and machine learning to give a more inspired way to plan and book travel.
