Infiniteria Europe Sàrl is a joint venture founded with the ambition to create the world’s first large-scale end-of-life tire recycling group. The initiative combines Antin’s expertise in developing and scaling infrastructure platforms with Michelin’s leading position in sustainable tires, supporting the transition toward a more circular tire value chain. Globally, it is estimated that over 1 billion tires reach the end of their useful lives every year, with an aggregate volume in Europe alone of approximately 3.5 million tonnes of end-of-life tires (ELT) annually.
Headquartered in Luxembourg, Infiniteria intends to develop and operate end-of-life tire recycling facilities across Europe. Subject to project development and regulatory processes, the group targets an aggregate recycling capacity of up to one million tonnes of ELT per year, with the potential to generate direct and indirect employment within the recycling value chain. The first full-scale commercial plant is currently under construction in Uddevalla, Sweden. Once operational, the plant is expected to have an initial processing capacity to recycle 34,500 tonnes of end-of-life tires per year, corresponding to approximately 40% of Sweden’s annual ELT volume.
Infiniteria has entered into legally binding long-term agreements, with durations ranging from 5 to 10 years, covering both the supply of end-of-life tires to the Uddevalla plant and the offtake of recovered materials, including recovered carbon black and oil. Customers for these recovered products include leading companies in the tire, rubber, and energy industries such as Michelin, Nokian Tyres, Preem, and H&R Group.
