Pintail is a global social project aiming at financial inclusion. Today, some 2.5 billion people still do not have access to financial services. It has been argued that an extra 1% financial inclusion would generate a 3.6% increase of per capita GDP in the countries concerned. Given their growing adoption of mobile phones, now is the time for a paradigm shift to gradually replace mostly cash-based payments by a digital ecosystem based on a flexible account to bridge between physical and non-physical means, while complying with all regulations.
Supported by the World Bank, the IOM and other public organizations, Pintail is also backed by its founders, employees and by private companies including a bank and an insurer. The ecosystem also adds the presence of technical but also commercial partners, acting as contact points in countries where Pintail will be deployed, while adding to the convenience of the service to users.
Intended for the Moroccan community initially, and ultimately, migrants and refugees worldwide together with their families and loved ones in the country or origin, our venture relies on a highly secure banking platform, already in use at over 600 financial institutions, and a real account, opened securely within minutes, thanks to a first application devoted to payments, currently in beta. Pintail plans to then launch a full set of micro-financial services.
Thanks to affordable and accessible products, Pintail proposes to include millions of people financially, with special attention being given to the issue of gender equality, to contribute to the fight against poverty and isolation and to encourage the development of the populations suffering from it.
