GRC was founded in 2019 by Sociability and Bambwa Group with the express concern of addressing Africa’s problematic trends of rapid urbanization and young people's migration to the cities.
During Sociability and Bambwa Group's decade's long professional experience of working in Africa on public-private partnerships for sustainable development, we witnessed firsthand the havoc that these trends can wreak on already struggling communities. By drawing on this experience, underpinned by academic insight into the myriad causes of complex social problems, and supported by a proven skill for implementing evidence-based sustainable solutions, we are uniquely equipped to develop the vision that could attempt to offset the destructive trends.
When the partnership was formed, the company set forward an aggressive plan to take the vision to reality. M. Mathiesen, Bambwa Group, brings to the partnership a valuable toolset gleaned from decades of leading successful global companies and acumen for finding the right funding and development partners needed to move from concept to construct.
GRCs central mission is to buck the aforementioned trends by improving the quality of life in affected areas through implementing an ambitious infrastructural concept that prioritizes the enhancement of trade, fun, community services and inclusive economic development. The services and tools provided are available under one roof in a sustainable green building, the River Center, affording easy access, convenience and the bringing together of the community. The infrastructure of the River Center and the platforms provided will help the communities develop and increase their connectivity, to each other and with the wider world.
Put simply, GRC brings together several valuable stakeholders from different trades to collectively provide underserved communities with facilities they need.
