EZ Lab is an innovative company specialized in advanced digital solutions for the agri-food and textile industries. Founded in Padua in 2014, today is based in San Francisco (CA) and Reims (FR). It developed AgriOpenData, the first digital platform to use blockchain and Smart Contracts to trace and certify agri-food products as a protection system for origin security, environmental sustainability and ethical values, while ensuring an increase of the economic value of the production. Indeed, EZ Lab mission is to provide transparency and safety from the producer to the final consumer, that today demands to be well-informed about his purchasing decisions. The team is composed by ICT professionals, agronomists, legal business managers, business development advisors and marketing and web reputation experts. AgriOpenData blockchain solutions have already been applied to diverse productive chains, such as winery, Asiago cheese, beer, ancient grain, soy, rice, hemp and milk. The protection of the “Made in Italy” and the attention towards anticounterfeiting led us to the development of the web app ART.CERTO, that allows artists and art gallerists to create their own digital archive, registering their artworks with blockchain technology. In 2017 EZ Lab was the only UE entrepreneurial entity to be selected by Silicon-Valley based incubator, today is IBM business partner, and is engaged in the ministerial test for the application of blockchain on 5G Wind Network in the city of L’Aquila, together with the Italian Polygraphic Institute and State Mint, ZTE Italy and L’Aquila University, to develop advanced solutions for companies and citizens. EZ Lab research activity is enhanced by its collaboration with the Department of Law and the Agripolis Institute of the University of Padua, and the Department of Economics of the University of Verona.
