EQUALY develops and licenses exploitation rights for new forms of treatment protected by an international patent portfolio. These forms of treatment are grouped into three thematic areas:
1. Prevention of adverse reactions after administration of therapeutic proteins. Approximately 80% of new therapeutic agents are protein-based, which are perceived by the body's defenses as a "threat" triggering the production of antibodies neutralizing treatment activity. We provide a simple method applicable to therapeutic proteins that prevents adverse reaction and preserves full treatment effectiveness.
2. Enhancing body's defense reactions in cases of intracellular chronic infection or tumors. Chronic bacterial infections (e.g., tuberculosis), viral infections (e.g., SARS-CoV-2), or parasitic infections (e.g., toxoplasmosis) require strengthening body's defenses for eradication. The same challenge arises with tumors. We propose an entirely new form of vaccination that harnesses a previously untapped spontaneous defense mechanism, leading to eradication of infection and control of tumor growth.
3. Anti-inflammatory activity and tissue repair. In the case of chronic autoimmune inflammatory diseases (e.g., type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, or thyroiditis), keeping local inflammation on hold and facilitating tissue repair are essential for disease control and potential cure. We propose a vaccination strategy that leverages the natural properties of the immune defense system and the production of factors involved in tissue repair.
EQUALY is open to local or international translational partnerships, particularly in the fields of genomics, diagnostics, and immunotherapy.
