BRIEF ABOUT ENGELBRECHTS A/S ENGELBRECHTS A/S is a furniture manufacturer established in 1989 and working in close collaboration with designers and other specialists to develop modern and timeless furniture for the perceptive and quality-conscious user. Engelbrechts was founded by Morten Engelbrecht, and at the very beginning he sold a variety of high end products from around the world. After a successful start, Engelbrecht expanded the business concept to include furniture developed by Engelbrechts A/S. This inspired him to convert Engelbrechts A/S from a Danish furniture retailer to an international furniture manufacturer selling furniture through an exclusive dealer network. Encouraged to develop more products for the company, Morten began his next close collaboration, first with the designer Erik Magnussen and subsequently Jørgen Rasmussen and Anders Hermansen. Behind the development of all Engelbrechts’ furniture is an experienced designer. They all work with the philosophy to create aesthetic, sculptural and functional furniture – where everything superfluous is cut away. Engelbrechts’ design philosophy is very much reflected in the products we produce – nothing is superfluous. We aim to optimize all aspects of a product down to every little detail. Take Jørgen Rasmussen’s double wheel caster as an example – it took him years to reinvent the wheel, and today, you will find the wheel under almost every office chair in the world. That is functional and long lasting design. Our goal is that users daily find joy in the thoughtful details that are found on nearly all Engelbrechts’ furniture.
