Crisis Action is an award winning NGO that works behind the scenes to forge global coalitions among organisations and individuals to engage governments to prevent armed conflicts and uphold their obligations to protect civilians. (For more detail on our campaigns, from Syria to South Sudan, please see our website.) Our innovative model of conflict prevention has been recognised by the 2012 MacArthur Award for Creative and Effective Institutions and the 2013 Skoll Foundation Award for Social Entrepreneurship. In 2013, the Ford Foundation also named Crisis Action as one of 7 NGOs to reshape the global human rights movement. Crisis Action has previously worked on Myanmar in 2007, on the military crackdown on peaceful protests, and in 2009, on the continued detention of Aung San Suu Kyi.
