Cake4Kids was founded in September, 2010 in Sunnyvale, CA by Libby Gruender. The primary mission is to provide free birthday cakes to foster care and at-risk youth who wouldn’t otherwise have a birthday celebration. Cake4Kids serves Bay Area agencies that cater to disadvantaged children and youth. Partnering with them, we are able to help raise a childs self esteem, at least one significant day a year, by letting them know people care for them thus increasing their chances of success in school and life.
Cake4Kids is powered by an amazing group of volunteers who bake cakes in their homes; delivering the magnificent birthday cakes to youth signed up with our organization. Youth range in age from 1 year to 24 years but each one is delighted to be recognized and receive a special cake baked just for them. The delight and joy in their faces when they receive their large pink or white box is so rewarding.
Cake4Kids is growing everyday. We are currently seeking volunteer bakers in each of the four regions that we serve; South Bay, Peninsula, East Bay and North Bay. Cake4Kids is a made up of dedicated volunteers who bake one or two cakes a year.
