bobine is developing a breakthrough low-carbon olefins production technology to electrify and decarbonise the petrochemical industry.
By combining heterogeneous catalysis with electromagnetic induction, bobine has developed a 100% electric process that fundamentally changes how energy is delivered to chemical reactions.
Operating at around 500°C (vs 800°C for conventional steam cracking), our technology significantly reduces energy consumption and CO₂ emissions while improving process performance, flexibility and feedstock resilience. Designed to integrate into existing petrochemical infrastructure, bobine’s technology can produce low-carbon and circular olefins from plastic waste, pyrolysis oil and other liquid feedstocks.
A new production route with major industrial advantages:
¬ c.60% lower energy consumption
¬ 60%+ olefin yield
¬ 50%+ lower CO₂ emissions
¬ High feedstock flexibility, including contaminated plastic waste, pyrolysis oil and other liquid feedstocks
¬ Drop-in technology, designed for existing petrochemical infrastructure
Developed with industry, for industry, the technology has now been been validated at pilot scale (CMD/Michelin in Clermont-Ferrand, France), with an industrial demonstrator currently under construction , paving the way for FOAK deployments from 2030.
bobine is building a new route to olefins: electric, circular and significantly lower-carbon.
